We are a wind power infrastructure and smart grid solutions company that are continually working on new innovations for wind turbines, wind energy generation and transmission, in addition to the comprehensive maintenance, repair and re-manufacture of ‘in-use’ technology. Our proprietary ‘grid-tie’ inverter designs dramatically expand the range from which useable 60 Hz AC power can be drawn, and our direct drive permanent magnet generators replace turbine gearboxes, therefore eliminating the highest failure rate component, while at the same time lessening turbine weight, increasing efficiency and reducing maintenance costs. Our full-service maintenance facilities are fully operational in both the Pacific Northwest and California, serving the western United States.
Each of our staff has over 20 years experience in their respective fields, encompassing mechanical, electrical, control and software engineering.
Our subsidiaries:
Energetic Drives, LLC is our engineering group, pioneering Permanent Magnet Direct Drive Turbines, and proprietary Grid-Tie inverter software designs that gain efficiencies and are key to ‘Smart-Grid’ interface and compliance.
GTS, Inc. currently operates two facilities equipped to maintain, repair and refurbish turbines, blades and towers along with a state-certified welding facility.
WIND IS FREE, IT’S RENEWABLE, AND IT’S CLEAN!
The U.S. market for small wind energy systems is prospering, expanding 15% last year and accounting for about half of the units sold in the entire world, the American Wind Energy Association recently announced, highlighting findings from its annual Small Wind Turbine market study. Small wind systems are defined as those with rated capacities of 100 kilowatts (kW) or less, and are used primarily to power individual homes, farms, and small businesses.
For the last ten years world wide wind turbine sales have grown approximately 29% annually. Wind power is now the world’s fastest growing source of energy. For the next twenty years it is expected to expand at double-digit rates.
In 2009, wind installations increased by 39% – source: American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
The US Dept. of Energy, the American Wind Energy Association and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory believe that 20% of the nation’s electricity can come from renewable wind energy within the next twenty years. This would result in cumulative U.S. wind turbine sales of over $250 billion, which with the rate of equipment failure will add many business opportunities for the company.
